The Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) is used to implement automatic failover functionality. For your business this means:
Het Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) is a computer networking protocol, providing automatic failover functionality in case one of multiple router interfaces (or the entire router) breaks/fails. You could say that two physical routers become one virtual router. We configure two routers, each with their own connection to the gateway. If the primary router link goes down, the backup router will take over all primary functions. All this while keeping the gateway connection online. Using VRRP you increase the availability and reliability of all routings by removing the Single Point of Failure (SPOF) of the single router. On a lower (connection) layer, SPOF can also be prevented by using a redundant connection.
Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP) is actually similar to VRRP, except for the fact that is for Cisco routers. Cisco designed HSRP to standardize redundant networks creation. Cisco claims the first patent on the technology. However, nowadays VRRP is accepted as a global standard which is not compatible with HSRP.
We can connect several locations to each other via any type of connection, such as our business broadband Internet connection. The advantages are:
More and more companies are working in the cloud, which makes the importance of a stable and secure Internet connection even higher. DataWeb has supported major companies in connecting their networks to cloud applications.
Handling a lot of data in a short time? Then choose a fiber optic connection by DataWeb.
Fiber optic broadband provides a more stable connection and lower latency.
Always a pleasure working with DataWeb. Their customer focus, technical experience, and response times are really great. This supports our believe that DataWeb is still the best partner for our network management.
DataWeb manages data connections for our 25 offices. They are a hub for all questions related to network connectivity. Answering all our questions fast and adept.
Over the past 10 years, DataWeb has proven to be a reliable and important partner. Always willing to discuss network design possibilities. Also, whenever there are changes, they act fast.
